Community Events: Roblox Group Tournaments and Player-Run Hunts

Track the Dino Hunters community events. Roblox Community Group tournaments, player-run hunts, seasonal competitions, and how to participate.

Dino Hunters community events run on two tracks: official events hosted by Fishgig Game through the Roblox Community Group, and player-run events hosted by the r/DinoHunters subreddit and Discord servers. Both tracks offer reward opportunities, but the official events are the only path to guaranteed free Robux gamepass prizes and to the leaderboard-cosmetic rewards. This article tracks every active community event, the participant mechanics, and the upcoming Fishgig Game-hosted competitions for the next quarter.

The Summer splash capture tournament is the largest active community event by participation. It runs through August 16, 2026, and the top 100 captures on the leaderboard each win a Robux gamepass prize.

The leaderboard is calculated by the Roblox server-side counter and freezes at midnight UTC on August 16. Players can verify their standing by checking the leaderboard link from the in-game Twitter icon.

The most contested part of the tournament is the Summer splash capture mechanic. Each Volcanic biome run during the event window counts as a Summer splash capture regardless of which dino you actually recruited. The Volcano is the easiest region to farm the requirement, but the capture bonus is biggest when you bag a Volcanic Spinosaurus or a T-Rex Apex during the run.

Roaming Dinos Community Challenge

The r/DinoHunters subreddit runs a parallel community challenge during Roaming Dinos rotations. The challenge is to capture the roaming Legendary dino at its forced-destination biome and post a screenshot to the subreddit.

The community challenge rewards are cosmetic — they apply to your Reddit flair, not your in-game dino team. The challenge is voluntary but it is the largest single source of community-driven captures in the active game.

Discord Screenshot Contest

The Fishgig Discord runs a screenshot contest every major build. The contest rewards the best in-game screenshots from the new content with limited cosmetic items.

The screenshot contest rewards are tied to the Roblox account, not the Discord handle. To claim, players must link their Roblox account to their Discord via the Roblox account verification flow.

Player-Run Hunts

Player-run hunts are the lowest-friction community event. A player announces a hunt time on Discord or Reddit, and the party forms voluntarily. No rewards are tied to player-run hunts, but they are the best way to find a party for difficult content like the Indominus Rex Ancient raid.

Hunt TypeTypical Group SizeFrequency

Apex dive runs4 players2–3 times per week
Indominus Rex raid4 players1 per server reset
Screenshot tours2–8 playersWeekly
Newbie carry runs2–3 veterans + 1–2 new1–2 times per week

The newbie carry runs are the most valuable player-run community event for free-to-play hunters because they pair you with veterans who already have T-Rex Apex captures and can guide you through the unlock ladder. The Roblox Community Group post for newbie carry runs is published every Friday.

Tournament Mode Beta (September 2026)

Build v1.3.0 will introduce Tournament mode as a beta feature. Tournament mode is the first competitive addition to Dino Hunters since launch, and the beta is restricted to a closed sign-up.

The closed beta sign-up opens on the Roblox Community Group on August 15, 2026. The first Tournament mode live event is scheduled for September 2026, with the leaderboard winners receiving a Tournament Master cosmetic item.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join the Roblox Community Group? Search for Community Group ID 999381953 in the Roblox Groups directory. Membership is free and instant.

Can free-to-play hunters win community event prizes? Yes. The Summer splash capture tournament rewards the top 100 with 100 Robux gamepass prizes, and there is no entry fee.

Are player-run hunt rewards legit? The rewards for player-run hunts are typically cosmetic flair on Discord or Reddit, never in-game items. Be cautious of any player-run hunt promising in-game items — Fishgig Game does not endorse those.
