A Dino Hunters Private Server is a Roblox Reserved Server paid for in Robux that locks the instance to a fixed list of players. Once created, the server persists until the Robux subscription runs out — typically 30 days per payment. Private Servers are the only reliable way to control who joins your squad, which biome you farm, and how long your Apex-tier hunt runs.
What a Private Server Gives You
A standard public Dino Hunters instance has three unpredictable variables: random players, biome auto-rotation, and spawn-rate dilution. Private Servers remove all three.
- Locked member list. Only players you explicitly invite can join. Random Roblox users cannot drop in.
- Biome persistence. The biome you choose when starting the server stays until you change it. No auto-rotation kicking you out of Mountain mid-Apex hunt.
- Higher spawn rate ceiling. Private Servers let up to 12 players in, which raises the Apex-tier spawn rate from 0.5% (public) to roughly 1.2% per biome cycle.
- No PvP interference. Although Dino Hunters already restricts PvP on public servers, Private Servers remove the tiny risk of a stranger's dino stealing your capture.

The 30-day timer starts the moment you pay Robux, not when you first log in. If you pay on day 1 and don't play for 20 days, the server expires on day 31 anyway. Plan payments around your active grind window.

Creating a Private Server
The creation flow lives entirely inside the Dino Hunters game page on Roblox, not inside the game client.

Once paid, the Private Server appears in the Dino Hunters main menu under Servers → Private. Click the server name to launch it. Roblox auto-adds you as the owner; everyone else must be invited.
Configuring Access
The Private Server has three access tiers that you control from the Roblox game page.

The Public setting is a trap for most squads. Anyone with the link can join, including trolls who spawn-kill Rare dinos. Only use Public for limited-time events where you want maximum attendance.
Inviting Friends to a Private Server
There are two reliable methods to invite friends to your Private Server.
Method 1: Game page link share. Open the Dino Hunters game page, click Servers → [Your Server Name] → Share Link. Send the link via Discord, Roblox DM, or in-game chat. Friends click the link and join the server directly.
Method 2: In-game party invite. While you are inside the Private Server, open the Roblox overlay and send a party invite to your friend. Roblox recognizes the party leader is in a Private Server and drops the invitee into the same instance.
Method 2 is faster but requires the friend to already be your Roblox friend. Method 1 works for strangers who want to try the server.
Biome Selection and Persistence
The Private Server's biome selection happens at server start. You cannot change biomes mid-session without resetting the server (which wipes unsaved progress).

Pick the biome that matches your squad's current progression goal. If you switch mid-grind, the new biome's spawn pool resets and your squad loses 30-60 minutes of accumulated buff timers.
Server Permissions and Moderation
Private Server owners can moderate their instance using Roblox's reserved-server tools.
- Kick player. Owner opens Roblox overlay → Players → right-click → Kick from Server. The kicked player cannot rejoin unless re-invited.
- Ban from server. Owner goes to Configure Server → Bans and adds the username. The ban lasts until manually removed.
- Promote co-owner. Settings → Roles → Co-Owner. Useful if the owner is AFK or crashes.
Dino Hunters does not have a built-in mute command — use Roblox's Ignore Player feature (Players sidebar → right-click → Ignore) for chat-only trolling.
When to Cancel the Private Server
Cancel the Private Server when the squad stops actively playing for 7+ days. The 30-day timer continues regardless of activity, so unused days are wasted Robux. To cancel:

- Confirm the refund dialog. Roblox refunds prorated Robux to your balance.
If you cancel mid-month, the server continues running until the current 30-day cycle expires. To kill the server immediately, remove all members and let it idle out (takes up to 24 hours).
Private Server vs Public Server Trade-offs
Public Servers are free but chaotic. Private Servers cost Robux but stable. The decision matrix:
- Hunting Common/Uncommon in Forest: Public Server is fine. Spawns are abundant; missing one doesn't matter.
- Farming Rare spawns: Public Server works if your squad arrives first. Apex-tier Rare dinos have a 5% spawn rate; competition is moderate.

- Document the squad's biome preference in your Discord so new members know what to expect.
- Remove inactive players every 2 weeks to free up Whitelist slots.
- Use Co-Owner for squad leaders who might run the server without you.
- Screenshot Apex captures before server maintenance — Roblox data centers occasionally roll back 1-3 days of saves during infra updates.
Migrating a Squad From Public to Private Server
The migration from public to Private Server rarely happens cleanly. Here is the playbook most successful Dino Hunters squads follow.
- Pick a quiet week. Avoid migrating during seasonal events (Roaming Dinos, holiday events) when the squad needs every grind hour.
- Buy the Starter tier first. 100 R$ is enough for a 4-player core squad. Upgrade later if the squad grows.
- Run parallel for 1 week. Keep using public servers for casual Forest farming while testing Private Server for Apex hunts.
- Promote the Private Server link in your Discord. Pin the link in a squad channel so members can join without asking.
- Decide on biome rotation. Some squads pick a single biome (Mountain for Apex) and rotate weekly. Others stick to Forest for the entire 30 days. Write the rule down.
Migration takes about 2 weeks of adjustment. After that, the squad rarely goes back to public.
Server Save and Backup Strategy
Roblox Private Server saves are server-side, but they are not atomic. Every 5 minutes, Dino Hunters commits a delta to Roblox's cloud. If the server crashes between commits, the last 1-3 minutes of progress roll back.
For Apex-tier hunts, the squad should:
- Trigger a save before risky encounters. Open inventory, move an item, close inventory. This forces a manual save checkpoint.

Roblox Private Servers are pinned to a region. If the squad is in the US, choose NA-East. If the squad spans US + EU, NA-East is the better compromise.
